Filmed over a six-year period, Endangered Species traces the painful yet inspirational journey of a group of young men and women recruited from public housing communities in Washington, D.C. to form the Earth Conservation Corps. Most of the ECC kids have seen and experienced little outside their own isolated communities where many of their peers have succumbed to violence, drugs, and the dangers of street life. The ECC kids are spurred on when they see results from their efforts.
